Revenue Code Predictions

Learn how CAVO populates IB revenue codes when none are provided

Written by Heath Keane
Updated today

When an Itemized Bill (IB) is uploaded to CAVO, CAVO identifies and separates out the revenue codes into their own column in the IB Module. If an IB is uploaded that contains no revenue codes, CAVO will predict what revenue code the line should be billed under and will populate it.

Revenue codes that are populated by CAVO (and not pulled from the bill) will have a magic wand icon next to them so they are easily identifiable.

How It Works

If CAVO does not find any revenue code on an itemized bill line, it will check for a service code. If the line contains a service code, CAVO will search that service code historically through your organization's historical IBs and determine the most likely revenue code for that charge. If there isn't a clear answer with the service code, CAVO will then try the same process with the description. If neither option provides a clear answer, no value will be populated.

Filtering for Predicted Revenue Codes

Users can filter the Rev Code column to view only Captured revenue codes, only Predicted revenue codes, or All revenue codes.
